How it began

A few months ago, my friend Julia mentioned that she was going to go to Togo to work on Mercy Ships. I mentioned that I would love to do that, too, but I didn't have any skills which would be useful. However, Julia encouraged me to apply, which I did. I was offered a one-month position as an Ophthalmic Technician and, even better, at the same time as Julia! This is an incredible opportunity to serve.

Beginning the journey

Julia and I are going to go to Togo! I have completed my paperwork and gotten my physical examination so I am over the first phase of this journey. On Friday, I began working with my friend Anthony in regaining some technical skills. Currently, I am downloading podcasts in order to learn some French before next May.
